How it works
Three steps from idea to timeline
No cables, no audio interface, no emailing files to yourself.
It sends itself
Pair once by scanning the QR code in the plugin. With Auto Send on, each take goes to your computer over your local Wi-Fi as soon as you stop.
Drag it onto a track
The take appears in the MicDrop plugin inside your DAW. Preview it, then drag it straight onto your timeline.
Takes, not streams
Real WAV files, checked on arrival
Phone-mic apps usually stream audio live, so a Wi-Fi hiccup ends up in your recording. MicDrop records the take on the phone, then transfers the finished file and verifies it with a SHA-256 checksum.
- Studio formats: WAV at 44.1, 48 or 96 kHz, 16, 24 or 32-bit, mono or stereo (where your phone supports it).
- A real takes library: favourites, filters, search, notes, trim and level, and multi-select delete.
- Share anywhere: send a take as WAV or a small MP3, save it to Files, or export every take as one ZIP.

Load MicDrop on any track. New takes show up in the list with their format and length. Click one to see its waveform and play it, then use Drag to DAW.
- VST3 on Mac and Windows, AU on Mac. One small plugin with its engine built in. Nothing else to install or run.
- Files on your computer: takes are also saved to your Music folder, so they're there even without the DAW open.
- Private by design: no account, no cloud. Takes go straight from your phone to your computer on your own network.
More than a recorder
Built for singers, rappers and producers
Live Mic
Hear your phone's microphone live through the plugin while you practise or lay down a scratch idea. Choose Low, Balanced or Stable latency. Experimental; expect some delay.
Remote Session
Record a singer in another city. The producer shares a six-digit code, approves the singer, and takes come back straight into the plugin with count-in and punch-in synced to the song.
Studio Cleanup
Remove room noise and hiss on the phone with AI noise suppression (Soft, Medium or Hard). Your original is always kept, and nothing is uploaded.
